Do you need a visa to travel to MEWE11?
Whether you need a visa and/or type of visa to enter the United States will depend on your country of citizenship. Please review instructions provided by the U.S. Department of State to determine your visa requirements. Click here to navigate to “Visitor Visa” page of the U.S. Department of State. Each attendee is responsible for arranging their own visa. If an “Invitation Letter” is required for visa purposes, then please indicate this when completing your registration. You will receive “Invitation Letter” within 5 business days of completing registration AND submitting abstract. Both, completion of registration and submission of abstract is required to receive the invitation letter.
What if my visa is denied?
If your visa application is denied by U.S. Embassy, you will typically receive an official statement confirming the denial. If your visa application is denied, please email the conference organizers (mewe11@gatech.edu) immediately. Include the following details in your email:
- The consulate where you applied (country and city).
- A high-quality color scan or photo of the official denial statement.
- A scanned copy of your passport’s data page (showing your name, photo, passport number, issuance details, and expiration date). Ensure that all information, including the passport number, is clearly visible.
To qualify for a full refund of your registration fee (minus card transaction fees), these documents must be emailed no later than two weeks before the conference begins (May 15, 2025). Please note that the organizers reserve the right to withhold the refund if incomplete or incorrect information is provided.
Travel instructions
Travel instructions to the conference venue and Georgia Institute of Technology will be provided in January 2025.
