From the Airport to Georgia Tech:

If you are flying into the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), there are a couple different ways to get to Georgia Tech Campus.

  1. Public Transportation: The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) offers rail service from the ATL airport to Mid-town Atlanta. When you are done with baggage claim, follow the signs to get to the MARTA station at the airport. At the station, you will have to purchase a Breeze Card. This is a re-loadable card that you can continue to use to ride the MARTA train and bus system during your time in Atlanta. A one-way fare will cost you $2.50. Take the MARTA train heading north – either the Red Line or the Gold Line. The two closest stops to Georgia Tech are the  North Avenue and Midtown. You can take the GT Stinger bus from Midtown station to campus on the Gold Route. https://bus.gatech.edu/routes/2/stops
  2. Taxi: There is a taxi stand outside of the baggage claim at the airport. Most taxi companies have a flat, standard rate from the airport to Midtown of $32. You may pay a little less or a little more, but please be aware about the taxi that you choose: ensure that it’s a legitimate taxi company and agree upon how the price will be determined (flat rate or meter) before putting your luggage inside. If you need help, do not hesitate to ask an airport employee.
  3. Ride share: Currently there are only two rideshare companies authorized to pick-up from Atlanta Airport. The two companies are Uber and Lyft. To utilize these providers, you must have their apps on your phone.
    1. If you are the baggage claim at the Domestic terminal, you will need to go to the ride-share pick up point. Rideshare drivers will pick up passengers at the North Economy lot, which is a short walk from North and South baggage claim. Passengers will proceed through North baggage claim for access to the lower-level escalators located between doors N2 and N3. Once downstairs, follow the orange signs to the Economy lot and request a ride only after arrival at the pickup location.
    2. If you are the baggage claim at the International terminal, you can request an Uber/Lyft using the App for curbside pickup at the International terminal.
